Product launch, panel discussions and indoor/outdoor exhibits at FDIC International 2022

April 28, 2022 (Indianapolis) — IDEX Fire & Safety is growing safety and education for today’s firefighters through new products, panel discussions and displays at FDIC International 2022.

Two panel discussions offer insight on firefighting operations as well as staffing challenges faced on the fireground. In “Changing the Game on the Fireground” at 2 p.m. on April 28, moderator Milla Austin joins Matt Ard (St. George, Louisiana), Scott Jones (Pattonville, Missouri), Eric McDonald and Jeff Groh (both with Freeburg, Illinois) in a discussion about firefighting operations including automation and technology on the fireground, funding a new apparatus, recruiting, training and staffing. Next on stage, Marc Bashoor with FireRescue1 talks with two experienced fire chiefs to discuss the staffing challenges they face on the fireground. Chief Kurt Nass of Hadley, Michigan, and Chief Allen Heyer of Lincoln County, Missouri, participate in the discussion at 4 p.m. on April 28.

In “Extrication Challenges of Electric Vehicles” at 1 p.m. on April 29, Energy Security Agency’s Chief Operations Officer Dalan Zartman will be discussing the unique fire and rescue challenges associated with electric vehicles.

IDEX Fire & Safety continues to foster a safer fireground with the introduction of SAM™ Monitor Control, a touch-control screen on the SAM System which enables the quick deployment of fire truck monitors. SAM Monitor also works with IDEX Fire & Safety’s 2021 introduction, the SAM Nozzle, a nozzle-to-pump, wireless communication that is the first and only hose nozzle that gives the firefighter at the scene control of the water flow. SAM System, SAM Monitor and SAM Nozzle, which allow operators to focus on the fireground instead of the side of a fire truck, will be featured at FDIC International 2022.

Also at this year’s FDIC, IDEX Fire & Safety brand HURST Jaws of Life celebrates its 50th anniversary through a country music song collaboration and live at-booth performance with artist Mark Ware along with new product launches for its eDRAULIC 3.0 and accessories lines. Additionally, IDEX Fire & Safety shows its continued commitment to saving lives through a $25,000 donation to iEmpathize, a nonprofit group that trains first responders on how to identify signs of human trafficking and child exploitation.

IDEX Fire & Safety and its trusted brands can be found in booths #1608 and #14056 in the indoor and outdoor exhibit areas of FDIC.
