A crash has resulted in a vehice fire on the M5, traffic monitor Inrix confirms.

One lane is closed on the northbound stretch of the motorway, between junction 18A and junction 17.

The crash was reported at shortly before 11.25am this morning (May 14).

Traffic is queueing as a result and drivers are urged to expect delays until the incident is cleared.

Inrix states: "One lane closed due to vehicle fire and accident, a car involved on M5 Northbound between M5 J18A (M49 interchange) and J17 A4018 (Cribbs Causeway). Lane one (of four) is closed."
