When and where to celebrate the Fourth of July in Sumner County

Ready to celebrate the Fourth of July?

There are a host of activities planned on and around the holiday in Sumner County.

Gallatin: Events start at 3 p.m. on July 4 at Triple Creek Park and will include the popular fire truck “Mountain of Foam,” created by the city’s fire department for children to play in.

Pelican’s SnoBalls will sponsor activities that will include multiple food vendors, small business vendors and a disc jockey.

Fireworks will begin after sundown.

Goodlettsville: The Independence Day Celebration will be held at 4-9 p.m., July 4 at Moss-Wright Park.

Multiple food trucks will be available. A kids area will include inflatables and games. Wristbands to access the kids zone are $10.

There will also be fireman’s foam. Fireworks are scheduled for 9 p.m.

Hendersonville: The city’s annual Freedom Festival will be held at 5-10 p.m., Sunday, July 3, at Drakes Creek Park.

Around 80-100 vendors, including food trucks, are planned. Live music, talent competitions and a kids zone are planned. The youth area is $5 per child with a maximum of $15 per family.

Fireworks are scheduled for about 9 p.m.

White House: The Americana Celebration & Brandon Webster Fireworks Show is at 5-11 p.m., Saturday, July 9, at the White House Soccer Complex off Highway 31W.

The celebration is held in conjunction with a carnival that opens at 4 p.m. There are also live music, food vendors, inflatables, face-painting and a magic show.

Onsite paid parking opens at 4 p.m. Free shuttle buses will run from City Hall, White House Middle School and the Church at Grace Park. Fireworks start around 9 p.m.

Portland area: The Highland Volunteer Fire Department will hold its 5th Annual Fireworks in the Park. Festivities start at 2 p.m., July 2, at Mitchellville Park, 1001 N. Church Street just north of Portland.

Live music, inflatables, food vendors and fire truck foam are planned. Fireworks begin around 9 p.m.

Millersville: The city will hold its 2nd Annual Bluegrass Festival at 6 p.m., Friday, July 1, at the Millersville Community Center, 1181 Louisville Highway.

Mike Compton and Plan B, the Ridgetop Ramblers and Josh Goforth will be features.

There is no cost to attend. Everyone is encouraged to bring a lawn chair. Food venders will be present.

Westmoreland: The annual Freedom Fest is at 2 p.m., Saturday, June 25, at Ricky Woodard Park.

Water slides, cake walks, food trucks, vendors, live music, kiddie trains and bounce houses are planned. Fireworks will be held at dark.

Freedom Fest is typically held the weekend before the July 4 weekend.
