The Brenham Fire Department had a busy day Sunday answering 7 calls including a structure fire and 2 vehicle fires.

At 12:45 PM, the Brenham Fire Department responded to 1506 East Alamo Street for a reported house fire. They arrived and found fire on the front of house. Firemen used handlines to extinguish fire and rescue one dog that was given to homeowner. The house has major damage to it and there were no injuries reported.  The cause of the fire is still under investigation. High winds played a key role in fueling the fire. The Brenham Fire Department also responded to two vehicle fires Sunday.  At 9:50 in the morning, the Brenham Fire Department responded to Highway 36 North and West Blue Bell Road for a reported truck fire. On arrival they found the driver of truck had used dry chemical fire extinguisher to extinguish fire. BFD checked brake area where fire was with thermal camera and blocked traffic until truck could be moved off lane of traffic to a safer area.
