The London FIre Brigade has released a statement that the bakery fire on Minerva Road is now under control.

According to LFB most of the ground floor and half of the roof of a single-storey industrial bakery was damaged by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.

Eleven gas cylinders were removed as a precaution as some cylinders can explode when exposed to heat.

Firefighters remain at the scene and the road remains closed, but is expected to reopen later today.

The Metropolitan Police in Ealing has issued a warning to local residents to stay away from the area.

In a brief statement on social media, the force said: "Emergency Services are on scene at Minerva Road, Park Royal in relation to a fire. Road Closures are in place. Avoid the area if possible."

As we've already brought to you, the fire in Park Royal is taking up significant amounts of London Fire Brigade's response ability with 20 fire engines on the scene.

Brent's arm of the LFB tweeted this morning that staff showed up to an empty appliance bay as engines were all out at the scene on Minerva Road.

Due to the nature of the industrial area in which the fire is ablaze, there are limited photos from the scene available. But one Twitter user has shared more recent pictures from this morning, showing the scale of the emergency services' response.

As well as 20 fire engines and 125 firefighters, police are also present at the scene. Even a Salvation Army Incident Support Unit is on the scene.

According to the Salvation Army's website, these units often attend emergency scenes to offer refreshments and support to emergency workers.

The London Fire Brigade has confirmed it expects to be on the scene of the bakery fire throughout this morning.

The London Fire Brigade has asked anyone who can to avoid the whole area, and Minerva Road will be closed for the forseeable future.

Local residents are also being asked to keep their doors and windows shut as the fire is still creating significant smoke in the area.

Firefighters were faced with a fully-developed fire on arrival. One person left the building before the Brigade arrived.
